Our History

Grace (S.C.C.) Church is an independent church founded on January 24, 1950 to reach out primarily to the Cantonese-speaking community. The English Congregation (EC) and Mandarin Congregation (MC) were eventually formed to cater to the diverse needs as the Lord increases our folds. The Lord has also impressed on our founders the urgency of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). The pulse of this urgency continues till today as we support more than 80 missionaries and missions projects around the globe.

Our Purpose Statement

Out of love for God and people,
we would like to bring people into a right relationship with Jesus, ...

   to baptise them as Believing Disciples,
   to build them up as Maturing Disciples,
   to train them as Reproducing Disciples.

Our Various Ministries in English Congregation

Worship Service
Our Worship Service is where we gather as a corporate body both to give and to receive. We render unto God our praises and prayers and receive from God our spiritual nourishment—the Word of God. (Sundays, 11.30am to 1.00pm)

Sunday Schools
Our Children Sunday School seeks to provide spiritual nurture to young worshippers in our midst. It caters for those from Nursery to Primary 6. (Sundays, 10.15am to 11.15am)

Equipping School
Our Equipping School serves to encourage adult believers to imbibe Christian teachings and values. Its aim is to engender growth, maturity, and preparation for service in the work of God. (Sundays, 10.30am to 11.15am)

Overseas Fellowship (OF)
Our Overseas Fellowship aims to provide a platform for foreign workers to gather together and more importantly to minister to their spiritual needs. (Sundays, 10.15am to 11.15am)

Grace Youth Ministry (GYM)
Our GYM is a place where youths gather, as the name implies, for spiritual workout. We have prayers, Bible studies, ministry equipping and periodical outings to broaden our perspectives. (Sundays, 9.45am to 11.30am)

Cell Groups (CG)
Our CGs seek to foster closer rapport among members through regular activities like Bible studies, prayer and sharing. Most CGs are organised on a geographical basis to minimize travelling. They meet weekly but each group decides individually which day to meet. Please feel free to contact our pastors for more information on joining a CG.

Sabbath-Rest
Besides our monthly Praise & Pray meetings, we also meet every Sunday morning at 10am to pray for the worship service, other on-going activities, and members in need. We call this meeting Sabbath-Rest as we seek to enter the Rest that God has promised His people (Hebrew 4).

Ladies’ Fellowship
This is a gathering meant only for ladies. We believe we may be able to share more intimately as woman to woman and also to offer mutual support and prayer for each other. As part of the Body of Christ, we seek also to reach out to other ladies in need. We meet bi-monthly. Please feel free to contact our pastors for more information.
